Welcome to the Digital Self
studio
Discover how this interactive toolkit empowers middle school youth to navigate digital spaces thoughtfully and creatively. Come along to explore the connections between emotions, identity, and online behavior.
What is it?
Have you ever been scrolling and suddenly felt different—maybe more confident, maybe a little unsure, or even comparing yourself to someone else? You’re not alone. The online world is a big part of everyday life, and it can shape how we think, feel, and see ourselves in ways we don’t always notice.
The Digital Self Studio is a space for you to slow down and understand your digital world. Here, you’ll explore how social media works, how it influences your emotions, and how you can take control of your experience. Through simple activities and real-life situations, you’ll learn how to think more deeply about what you see and how it affects you.
This space is about you—your thoughts, your feelings, and your power to move through the digital world with confidence and knowledge!
Digital Literacy Toolkit
The toolkit is divided into five key sections: Emotional Literacy, Platform Literacy, Critical Media Literacy, Digital Safety, and Digital Media History. Each section provides tools, activities, and prompts to develop critical thinking and self-awareness regarding digital interactions.

The Digital Self Studio grew from a passion for education about digital spaces. Located in Syracuse, the focus is on increasing digital citizenship among middle school students through a comprehensive and engaging approach.
You can explore in any order—but if you want to follow the full journey, start from the beginning...
